ENLETS Joins RAILPOL Meeting

Connecting Networks from the Law Enforcement Community

Core Group Leader Patrick Padding represents ENLETS in Railpol’s latest meeting in Berlin October 2024, where the groups discussed cooperation between the networks to help strengthen safety and security in the EU.

Both communities are members of the Law Enforcement Networks Working Group of DG Home, a platform bringing together the EU networks Airpol, Railpol, Aquapol, European Surveillance Group (ESG), ATLAS, High-Risk Security Network (HRSN), the Inflight Security Officer Network (EIFS) and ENLETS.

During his visit, Patrick met with the network’s French Secretariat, Railpol’s management team, and the Chairmen of the working groups on counterterrorism, public order, rail accidents, and crime.

ENLETS’ current priorities – Mission-critical Communication and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS)- were threaded through the meeting. Railpol will support threat strategies regarding C-UAS scenarios, and the two networks will explore closer cooperation next year through a Memorandum of Understanding.

If you want to find out more about either network, please get in touch with us.
