The ENLETS Core Group and National Contact Points (NCP) met in Copenhagen from 8–10 October 2025, hosted by the Danish National Police. The three-day gathering brought together law enforcement experts and strategic partners from across Europe to discuss the fast-evolving technological landscape in policing and to strengthen practical, cross-border collaboration.
The meeting opened on 8 October with a Core Group session and informal networking at Politigården, the historic Copenhagen Police Headquarters. The following two days offered a focused, hands-on programme reflecting ENLETS’ priorities and the strategic direction of the Danish EU Presidency.
Programme highlights
Day 1 — Hybrid threats & resilience
Participants explored how European law enforcement agencies can boost operational resilience through technology, cooperation, and preparedness. Sessions covered:
Hybrid threats and organisational resilience within LEAs.
Counter-UAS (C-UAS) developments, including a practical session on wearable solutions by MyDefence.
Urban mobility and public safety insights from UITP, linking transport resilience to policing needs.
Day 2 — Digital transformation & AI in policing
Attention turned to digital transformation and responsible AI:
The Danish National Police presented their AI strategy, illustrating how innovation can strengthen investigation and prevention capabilities.
The National Special Crime Unit (NSK) shared a case study on facial recognition used to identify victims of child exploitation—underlining ethical considerations, governance, and operational value.
Updates from ENLETS Technology Interest Groups (TIGs) showcased ongoing initiatives and cross-European collaboration. The discussions reaffirmed ENLETS’ role as a trusted bridge between technological innovation and real-world policing, enabling Members to share best practices and co-develop effective, scalable solutions.
Alignment with the Danish EU Presidency
The meeting closely aligned with the Danish EU Presidency priorities for a secure, resilient, and digitally advanced Europe. Denmark’s programme emphasises technological innovation, cyber resilience, and cross-border cooperation—all central to the ENLETS mission of enhancing security through technology.
By advancing responsible AI adoption, building resilience against hybrid and digital threats, and enabling knowledge exchange between Member States, the Copenhagen meeting demonstrated ENLETS’ direct contribution to broader EU goals of trust, safety, and innovation in the digital age.
Conclusions
The ENLETS NCP Meeting successfully combined strategic dialogue, technological insight, and operational exchange. It underscored the importance of sustained cooperation among Member States and highlighted the value of connecting policy, research, and practice in law enforcement technology. Beyond the formal programme, participants benefited from valuable networking and cultural experiences that further strengthened collaboration.
