ENLETS Digital Transformation TIG online meeting on 23 June 2026 to explore OSINT for frontline and community policing, AI-assisted tools, OpenShift and Kubernetes.
The Digital Transformation (DT) TIG continues to develop its activities as a platform for exchange on the organisational, technological, and legal dimensions of change in law enforcement. On 6 May, the TIG held an online meeting focused on why DT in policing must go beyond technology procurement.
ENLETS was represented at POLSECURE 2026 in Kielce by Jakub Gorczyński, Public Order TIG Leader. The visit offered an opportunity to explore solutions relevant to law enforcement and can help PO TIG better identify technologies worth further attention and exchange within the ENLETS network.
ENLETS is pleased to announce the establishment of a new Technology Interest Group (TIG) on Digital Transformation, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Member States as they navigate the evolving digital landscape of law enforcement.
In an increasingly interconnected world, the challenges facing law enforcement—from climate-driven disasters to evolving forms of protest—do not stop at national borders. For modern policing to be effective, the era of working in isolation must give way to a new culture of „pooling and sharing.”
Counter-terrorism officers from the Mazovia region (Poland) took part in a joint operational training in Slovakia. The officers were invited by the Special Police Unit PPÚ Bratislava and trained together at the Lešť Training Centre in Slovakia from 23 to 27 February 2026, enhancing cross-border cooperation and operational readiness. This initiative directly resulted from ENLETS collaboration, demonstrating how international partnerships can be translated into practical actions.
The new ProtectEU strategy marks the beginning of a new era, in which Member States strengthen their capabilities to protect societies and democracies. This includes enhanced threat assessments, greater use of EU-developed technologies, and stronger operational cooperation between police forces across Europe.
The ENLETS National Contact Points met in Nicosia last week, hosted by the Cyprus Police, to review EU policy developments and other topics.
