Counter-terrorism officers from the Mazovia region (Poland) took part in a joint operational training in Slovakia. The officers were invited by the Special Police Unit PPÚ Bratislava and trained together at the Lešť Training Centre in Slovakia from 23 to 27 February 2026, enhancing cross-border cooperation and operational readiness. This initiative directly resulted from ENLETS collaboration, demonstrating how international partnerships can be translated into practical actions.
The participation of the Polish counter-terrorism officers was inspired by the contacts established during the ENLETS Public Order Technology Interest Group (PO TIG) meeting in Bratislava on 13 –17 October 2025. During the meeting, a Polish Police representative and ENLETS member established contact with representatives of Slovakia’s National Contact Point (NCP).
These initial contacts later opened the way for cooperation with the Lešť Training Centre in Slovakia. The training brought together Slovak and Polish special units to train in combat-realistic conditions, enhance the counter-terrorism officers’ motivation and exchange experience. It will contribute to stronger operational security in the future.
As Superintendent Michał Rudka, Deputy Commander of the Counter-Terrorism Police Unit in Radom, emphasised, the joint training demonstrates the strength of ENLETS in building meaningful international partnerships:
“For our unit in Radom, and for our Slovak colleagues, this joint training was much more than a formal exchange — it was a valuable opportunity to build a real working relationship based on trust, shared experience and common operational standards. I am particularly pleased that, thanks to ENLETS, the contacts we established developed so quickly into a concrete initiative with direct value for our officers. This is exactly where ENLETS makes a difference: it helps create meaningful international connections and turns them into practical cooperation on the ground.”
This joint training is a strong example of how ENLETS helps turn professional contacts into practical cooperation with real operational value. By connecting law enforcement professionals across Europe, the network supports the development of trusted partnerships that strengthen preparedness, interoperability and mutual learning. If you represent a Law Enforcement Agency and would like to become part of this growing community, we invite you to join the ENLETS network.
